Cryogenic
The Challenge:
Cryogenic Ltd required a bespoke cleanroom solution to support the next phase of their project involving the handling and integration of a large cryogenic chamber.
The specific challenges were:
- Facility Constraints: The installation needed to accommodate a 3 metre-high chamber and allow crane access inside the cleanroom.
- Unique Access Requirement: A special retracting access hatch was essential so that a crane could be brought through the cleanroom enclosure to position the chamber accurately.
- Strict Cleanroom Environment: Operations had to occur inside an ISO 7 clean environment to meet stringent contamination control requirements.
Programme Pressures:
The timeline was tight — the cleanroom needed to be delivered in line with Cryogenic Ltd’s existing project schedule, with minimal disruption to their wider engineering programme.
Cryogenic
The Solution:
Total Clean Air designed and delivered a custom Modulab cleanroom tailored to the client’s exact needs:
- Customised 3 m High Cleanroom Build: The cleanroom structure was engineered to the precise height requirement, ensuring full spatial compatibility with the oversized cryogenic chamber.
- Retracting Access Hatch: A bespoke retracting hatch was integrated into the cleanroom design. This feature allowed a crane to enter and lift the chamber safely into position without compromising the cleanroom envelope or ISO 7 certification.
- ISO 7 Clean Environment: The Modulab installation was completed and certified to meet ISO 7 standards, providing Cryogenic Ltd with the controlled environment necessary for contaminant-sensitive activities and high-precision assembly.
- On-time Delivery: Despite the complexity, the project was delivered on schedule, aligning perfectly with the client’s operational milestones so that they could progress their engineering works without delay.
